Preparation of the Manuscript

Please include your name, affiliation and contact details on the opening page of the document. Research manuscripts, theoretical and philosophical pieces must not exceed 7,000 words, excluding references. Manuscripts based on intervention practices, both institutional and community-based, as well as experience narratives must not exceed 4,000 words, excluding references. Commentaries and responses related to published articles must not exceed 3,000 words, excluding references. Submissions should be prepared in word-processing software using Arial 11. The text file should be double-spaced and set with top, bottom and side margins of 2.5 cm or 1 inch. Before uploading, manuscripts should be organised in the following order: (1) title page, (2) abstract and key words (max of 5), (3) text, (4) acknowledgements, (5) references. Footnotes to the text are allowed.
Style

There is no specific style, but the presentation (references, etc.) should be consistent throughout. Presentation of manuscripts that are not consistent throughout will be returned to authors prior to peer review.

The journal uses UK spelling for English articles and authors should therefore follow the latest edition of the Concise Oxford Dictionary.

All measurements must be given in metric units.

Abbreviations should be used sparingly and only where they alleviate the text. Initially use the word in full, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. Thereafter use the abbreviation.

Drugs should be referred to by their generic names, rather than trade names.
Contributors retain the rights to their published works.
Ownership does NOT transfer to Parrhesia Journal.
Once published, Parrhesia Journal retains the rights to keep the document in its online edition in perpetuity.
Parrhesia Journal will not sell or republish your work. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication.
Authors can enter separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book or in another journal), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in Parrhesia journal.
