Emmanuelle Bernheim LLD, PhD
CO-EDITOR IN CHIEF
Emmanuelle Bernheim is a full professor in the Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law and holds the Canada Research Chair in Mental Health and Access to Justice. Her research focuses on the role of law and justice in the production and reproduction of social, gender and racial inequalities. She has conducted several ethnographic fieldworks in courts dealing with social and mental health matters. Her current research, conducted in partnership with various civil society groups, documents the use of psychiatric, administrative, and judicial coercion.

Dave Holmes RN, PhD, FAAN, FCAN
CO-EDITOR IN CHIEF
Professor Dave Holmes holds the University Research Chair in Forensic Nursing. After completing his BSc (Ottawa, 1991), MSc (Montreal, 1998) and PhD (Montreal, 2002) in nursing, he completed a CIHR post-doctoral fellowship in health care, technology and place at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Social Work (2003). To date, Professor Holmes has received funding from CIHR and SSHRC to be a principal investigator for research on risk management in the fields of public health, psychiatric nursing, and forensic nursing. Most of his work, comments, essays, analyses, and research are based on the poststructuralist works of Deleuze, Guattari, and Michel Foucault.

Pier-Luc Turcotte OT, PhD
RECEIVING EDITOR
Pier-Luc Turcotte is an occupational therapist and assistant professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences specializing in community health. His research focuses on the institutional mechanisms that dehumanize and exclude patients considered “difficult” due to factors such as poverty and disability and emphasized the importance of recognition to counter this exclusion. Pier-Luc is interested in the sociopolitical aspects of social and health services among marginalized populations. His teaching is based on over a decade of clinical experience in community, institutional and psychiatric settings, and among Indigenous communities.

Jean-Laurent Domingue TRN, PhD
PRODUCTION EDITOR
Jean-Laurent Domingue is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on the political dimensions of nursing, particularly the care of individuals marginalized in relation to health and public safety. Professor Domingue grounds his projects in critical theory to better understand how nurses interact with hegemonic structures that uphold systemic injustices, especially in the fields of psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
